Self development tips for personal wellbeing
Have you experienced ups and downs emotionally in the last 18 months? Have your anxiety levels risen to a new high? Maybe your regular routine for personal wellbeing has taken a stumble during this time and shaken your truth?
A little sound meditation video I created to inspire a calm mind
With so much conflicting information out there, whether on the news, which is 24/7 or social media, no wonder the world is seeing a high level of people experiencing anxiety and stress. For many during this time it’s been a first experience with anxiety and for many others it has risen.
Having anxiety can change the way we view the world, ourself, relationships and our physical health. So, is it possible to turn this feeling of anxiety around to more of a positive state of mind? Absolutely! I can’t continue to write this post without mentioning, if you are feeling overwhelmed, please see your doctor. A kind caring doctor can help guide you. This post is about bringing awareness to thoughts, feelings and actions we can take for more calm, self-love and inner wisdom.
Shine a light on your qualities
We all have these wonderful attributes within us, such as love, peace wisdom, purity and silence. The world we are living in today means we are at a crucial point in time, this time right now is the time to delve deeper into these qualities within. If we didn’t take our wellbeing seriously then, now is the time to take action. We are too precious to waste our time on things that keep us in a zombie state or control us. Like watching the news first thing in the morning, or jumping on social media and staying on those platforms (which are designed to), simply wastes time. Turn off your mobile phone or notifications. Time is too precious!
Imagine if there was a currency to time, we might value it more? Time is a gift, is it not?
What has happened in our world lately is a huge wakeup call – do you feel or see that? It’s time to tune inwards not outwards.
What are some actions we can take for our personal wellbeing?
In many cases its changing un-healthy habits we have gotten into and replacing them with self-nurturing habits that have a positive outcome. The following are suggestions. You might have some that you could add to the list? If so, please leave a comment in below, it might inspire someone else reading this.
3 actions to inspire more wellbeing in your life
Morning meditation
The morning is one of the most important times of the day, it can help setup a positive day for us. So instead turning the TV on to watch the news, which is designed once again to keep us engaged on these platforms. Make time for tuning in. If you struggle to meditate, go along to a group sound bath to help quiet the mind, energise and rebalance the body and spirit. Try guided meditations, or music for meditation. Maybe your cuppa tea is sitting in a garden, just observing?
The idea of this wellbeing example it to change the neural pathways from fight and flight to calmness as a normal state of mind.
Creative spiritual practice
Explore the arts and inspire self-development! Delve into the amazing wellbeing benefits of mindful music-making, and drumming meditation. There are so many options these days, either live in person in your city or online courses. Bring more creativity into your day. Learn healing rhythms for mindfulness and meditation, find a like-minded wellbeing group who are into rhythm as a spiritual practice to increase intuition skills. Use your voice, make up your own healing song and play your drum and sing. Let your soul fly, be free to express what is in your heart.
Share your gifts and talents
What can bring happiness is giving. Everyone on this planet has a gift or talent. It might be you’re a good listener, cook, dancer, musician, gardener, have a great smile, make people laugh, painter, photographer… got the picture... so to speak. You have a gift or talent to offer. Share this with others. Maybe volunteer at your community center, start up your own community group, share your gifts and talents at a primary school, or elderly citizens home.
We are all energy… our thoughts, our body, the soul. When begin to be aware and understand the responsibility of the energy we bring to any situation. We need more kindness, more love, gentleness in the world and yes you can make a difference. Share your gifts and talents.
All of these actions take discipline and at times can be heard work. Sometimes self-love has its challenges, right? We can be really good coming up with excuses, yes? Such as our self-talk, like I’m too tired to meditate or I don’t have time to share or I’m too exhausted to take a walk today.
Just by making a few changes in our life, we can reap the rewards or the jewels as they say. We are rich with good vibrations, joy and inner peace. Take time today to bring more wellness into your life.
