Innovate your drumming practice
In my last post I featured sound meditation that included the harmonious sounds of Tibetan singing bowls and chakra chimes.
Combination of buffalo drum, djembe and singing bowls
While I was in my recording studio I was inspired to take the sound meditation a little further. I added a beautiful buffalo drum rhythm and rain stick shaker groove for grounding, to inspire to get your drum and play-along to the track. The combination of these beautiful instruments really work well together, and sometimes it's the combination of sounds that can help ease the body and mind. I use this theory in Positive Music drum circle facilitator trainings, to bring awareness of not only rhythm, but harmony and vibration.
Manifest what you want for 2021
As we begin another year, and let go of 2020, this is the perfect time to look at what is important to you. Take time to write down and manifest what you want for 2021. Is it learn something new, maybe a musical instrument, attend community drum classes, spend more time with love ones, move to a different location, change your job? Our thoughts are powerful. As you drum along to this meditative rhythm in the video, bring in the intention of what you want for 2021.
Why singing bowls and meditative rhythms
Research tells us that slow steady rhythms at around 80 bpm (beats per minute) can affect our brain waves, from reducing over thinking, slowing down an active mind. The binaural beats and sound vibrations of singing bowls help relax body and mind, influencing Alpha and Theta brain waves., also reducing over thinking and making us feel great!
In this sound meditation I’m playing a simple groove, the pulse on the buffalo drum, the djembe rhythm part that is included in the new Drum Therapy cards and keeping the shaker part simple, accenting the downbeat. This is a beautiful meditative rhythm for beginner-beginners and for all levels of playing. Anyone can drum to this meditative healing track.
The time is now...
By being present, more mindful we can tune into our creativity and tune into our intuition.
It’s time for more creativity, more healing music, share your spirit. Is there something that you’ve always wanted to try? Now is the time to explore your creative side, to nurture what’s inside of you. Let your heart sing, your hands be creative, your mind flourish with innovation. What have you always wanted to do, but felt you never had the time for?
