Drum circle rhythms that play a supportive role for your group
Are you a community leader, drum teacher or drum circle facilitator looking for rhythms to help support your drum circle? I wanted to help you learn a few drum circle rhythms to help nurture your musicality and build your confidence.
Discover more creative rhythms to expand expressiveness
One of the great benefits of participating in a drum circle is the opportunity to improvise (play what you feel). When we improvise we use parts of the brain that increase problem-solving skills and creativity.
For those people who attend a drum circle for the first time or those who haven't played a drum before, at first they may struggle with improvisation. As a drum circle facilitator my role is to support everyone in the circle and get people having fun playing music together with each other. So some occasions I might be playing a low pitch drum to support the group rhythmically.
Let's look at a lovely common 4/4 drum circle rhythm playing three Remo Sound Comfort Tubanos - low, medium and high pitch drums. These drums can either be played as hand drums or using mallets. As seen in the video.
