Let yourself fly and share your bliss
Just imagine for a moment, yourself… being a beacon of energy and light and sharing your passion and bliss with the world. Did you know all that’s required is, just be our self? So why is this so difficult?
I believe we are living in a very important time in history. Is it time to let go of all those things that hold us back? You know those thoughts of “I’m not enough”, “who am I to share ideas”, “what do I have to offer”. Did you know that you are really important? The world wouldn’t be the same without you. You see we are all energy, that’s what makes up this wonderful world, energy or beings of light.
One thing that comes to me, is the drum circle and how it’s a reminder of life. Its pulsating with energy, what we do in the circle has a flow on effect. When we drum in the circle it’s not living in the past or even thinking what’s coming up, it’s totally right here and right now. If we think about a note or a rhythm that didn’t work in the drum circle, we aren’t being present to what is happening in that moment. We miss those golden opportunities of rhythmical inspirations.
You know when everyone in the drum circle is totally in the moment, there’s an energy of freedom, oneness, community, and sharing of heart to hearts. Doesn’t that sound amazing? Would you like to live a life like that… with freedom?
Sometimes we can forget what makes us unique, we focus more on what others think of our self… basically we give a way our power. This can increase stress and anxiety which can lead to unhealthy thoughts, behaviour and actions. Then this becomes a circle and it goes round and round, we are on the treadmill of doubt, lack of trust and not living up to our full potential.
Break the cycle of negative thoughts
One way we can break the cycle is through meditation. Gradually we can change those thoughts of “I’m not enough”. Yes, it can be done, though it takes time and discipline. Simple right? Meditation can sound really scary… our thinking could be, wow spend time with my thoughts no thank you, that’s what I don’t want.
One way to reach our full potential and begin the journey of self-love and respect is using gentle sounds or music to quiet negative thoughts and change our inner world from neglect to empowerment. Meditation doesn’t have to be a struggle. There are practical ways to explore such as sound baths, yoga, music-making, drumming meditation. All of these activities are in the moment. We can make small changes and sometime just a small change can bring on even bigger changes.

If you’re struggling to find positive attributes of yourself, affirmations work really well. I’ve created affirmation cards to nurture positive thoughts during meditation, which can be easily downloaded as pdf.
Things we can do to change our inner world
- Rise early each morning take 10 or 15 minutes listen to a meditation or gentle music
- Create affirmations with one-minute meditations throughout each day
- Explore sound baths, yoga, music making
- Challenge those negative thoughts... is it true
- Walk in nature
