Share positive vibrations with others
“Be a star and sparkle light into the whole world” – Dadi Janki, peacemaker
One gift we can give to others is send good wishes with our thoughts. A gift of peace doesn’t cost anything. Actually, when we share this vibration with an intention of giving and serving it comes back to us in spades.
It's coming up International Day of Peace and to celebrate I’ve composed and recorded a few songs, one called Harmony that will be released on 21st of September to inspire peaceful vibrations across the globe. And my new song called Resilience.
More now than ever we need peace! Whether that is within us, in our local community, the country we live in or on a global level for our leaders.
You already have the gift of peace
Now you might be thinking… “yeah right, what can I do to bring peace to the world”? Here, I’d like to share with you just one of my experiences with you, if that’s OK? Many years ago, I had booked myself into a spiritual retreat and part of the retreat was a two-hour meditation in silence. Well, for one thing I had never meditated for more than 40 minutes, and I was a little concerned that how was I going to meditate for two hours with other people!
Let me set the scene for you… it was during the evening, a perfect Autumn evening with crickets singing their song in the garden and the room setup with low lighting. If my memory serves me correctly there were about 40 to 50 people in the retreat and about another six long time experienced meditators for the two-hour session.
There are many moments that shape each and everyone’s life and this was one of them for me. All of us arrived in the space and sat around in a circle with master meditators in the middle, facing us on the outer circle.
The vibrations and positive energy in the room was palpable. I hadn’t experienced so much joy, peace and love on this scale before. I realised that the collective intention of peace is a power that can change the vibrations not only with those in the space, but on a global level.
How can we share our creative spirit for International Day of Peace?
Just imagine 7.8 billion across the globe with thought of peace at the same time? Wow! That would be fantastic!
As a certified drum circle facilitator, I suggest organise a drum circle at your home with family and friends, invite your neighbours and make it a community gathering of peaceful energy. Or book your local community centre and get other local businesses involved make it a fun event… food is always a lovely draw card… maybe a lovely vegan BBQ?
As a certified sound practitioner, I suggest, have you thought of running a sound healing with others. You don’t need a lot of sound therapy instruments to make an impact … remember the intention is to send good wishes and peaceful thoughts. If you have a drum, maybe a singing bowl. That can be enough for a powerful sound meditation of peace.
As a certified meditation teacher, I can suggest, plan an hour or two and open it up to community, maybe host the meditation at your home?
Host an evening or daytime of reading poetry of peace. If you don’t know of any poetry, here are some inspirational authors to read from, Louise Hay, Dadi Janki, Eckhart Tolle, Marianne Williamson. Maybe you can suggest more? Please leave them in the comments below to help bring light to others in search of peace.
Are there any other creative ways you can think of? Please leave a comment below.
