Djembe music increasing creativity and wellbeing
Why are more and more people turning to the djembe drum for wellbeing? How are we hardwired for rhythm that connects us to our essence? What is it about djembe music that uplifts our spirit?
What if I was to say, there is no need to be a musician to gain the benefits of music and drumming with others? You see drumming has been around for centuries, used as a healing tool, played for ceremonies and to connect us as a harmonious community. Playing drumming music [student resource] naturally takes us out of our head from over thinking, taps into our heart and connects us to our inner essence, our unique spirit.
Now to some that may sound a bit whoo hoo. However, there is much research to confirm this evidence. The djembe drum is an accessible musical instrument that anyone can play. As I have seen firsthand in Positive Music trainings, from people who have never played a musical instrument before. Just a few simple sounds such as bass or tone in sync with others in a drum circle can bring us together in ways that is empowering and inspiring – that we are instantly connected and united.
Creativity and drumming
Creativity and drumming go hand in hand. The more we explore this beautiful instrument such as the djembe drum, the more we delve deeper into our rhythmical creativity. Expressing musically what is in our heart is exhilarating and empowering.
Learning simple rhythms in different time signatures can be so much fun and creativity rewarding too, like Dancing Wildflower Djembe Rhythms. I have composed this drum track for you to explore more djembe rhythms to build your rhythm repertoire and experience enjoyment with the play along percussion music with 6 tracks all together. It also includes a workbook, written in box form notation – great for those who don’t read musical notation.
Drumming for wellbeing
Now more than ever, we need music! Drumming together is a gift to us all and can be experienced as a healing tool. Let’s face it, many of us around the world have faced challenges like no other time. We are seeing the affects of covid, the anxiety that has spread across the globe and the ramifications of this mind-blowing.
It's time to take our power back! It's time for us to stand in our power! Time for healing! Let's get more into sound healing, drumming, experience more music in our life.
When we use affirmations with our drumming we can shift old beliefs and replace these old beliefs with more empowering and positive thoughts about ourself and our world. Remember that playing a drum creates vibration and this vibration is energy, same thing with our thoughts – every thought we have has an energy.
This is why the drum can be seen as a healing tool, not just as an instrument for musical performance. When we combine these elements together this is where, over time our life can change from one of anxiety to one of calm in challenging times. Music is meditation for the mind and when we learn to play the drum for meditation we can make small changes that can begin to change the way we view ourself.
