Maintain a sense of joy and grow your musicality
When we come from a place of giving to others from our heart this naturally increases joy.
‘Generosity truly is good for your heart’, says Dr. Albers. Researchers found that giving to others can lower your blood pressure and protect your ticker. (The effect, by the way, is similar to the positive results brought by a healthy diet and exercise.)
Not only do we gain the benefits of giving, it can also make a huge positive impact on someone else’s life as well. The flow on effect can reach far and wide.
There is something special when we use our creativity to help others. I believe that all of us are creative, whether this shows up as musical, artistic, a great listener or a wonder in the kitchen. (My husband is way better in the kitchen than I am. He can make a mean tofu salad). I think I’ll stick to drum circle facilitator training.
So let’s get giving!!
Choose someone that you feel connected to or simply want to bring joy. Actually, this can also include giving to nature. When I was at the top end of Australia, in Uluru I played one of my heart chakra singing bowls. It felt wonderful connecting with the intention of giving positive energy to nature in this way.
Ok, set aside some time for you to choose someone. Now what sound healing instruments would you like to play? Drum, singing bowl, guitar, piano, flute, voice? What instrument do you connect with that brings you joy?
Be creative and use your imagination, visualization too. Remember your intention is key when giving. This is an exchange of energy from heart to heart. Can you see how this creative process starts to bring the feelings of joy already? And not a note has been played yet.
There are a couple of ways to give this wonderful gift. Either in person, play in front of the person/nature or record your creative efforts. I love the idea of capturing creativity in a moment in time through recording.
I’m working on a lovely song at the moment to give to my niece, with the intention of bringing her joy. I will share the end results of the song with you next week.
Depending on your budget. From no money this can be achieved on a smart phone, however for the best audio results this can be captured with a small setup of audio gear. Or you might know of a friend who has a setup to capture your creative heart song? I could also help you to produce your song too, please contact me if you are interested.
I want to give you some gifts!!
I’m celebrating Positive Music 10-year anniversary! Positive Music was born in September in 2013. For the month of September, I’ll be giving away some cool stuff!
