Play djembe rhythms to honour Mother Earth
Would you like to join me on Saturday 22 April and learn djembe drum rhythms, play native American flute, or sing to celebrate Earth Day?
I’ve been in my recording studio creating a song for this special occasion – Earth Day. What is Earth Day all about you may ask? Earth Day is an annual celebration that honours the environmental and raises awareness of the need to protect Earths natural resources for future generations.
Create positive groove vibrations to help our planet
The best way I can help the environment is to run Positive Music teacher trainings to pass on knowledge and experience and continue creating healing music that we all can play-along to, with the intention in mind of caring for our Mother Earth. As you may know I’m a huge advocate that thoughts are energy. As I continue my studies in the field of healing and now a certified sound practitioner using sound therapy instruments and as a certified meditation teacher to help calm the mind, research shows that these modalities connect thought and energy.
When we put together an intention with our playing the drum, the native American style flute, or sing, this vibration can reach all parts of the globe. So, yes, we can make a difference to help reduce the negative impact on our community and environment.
So how can we all come together and play-along to the new Earth Day song which I have called Peace for Mother Earth? I’ll be uploading the song to my music page and creating a video on Saturday to my Youtube channel plus placing it right here on my blog.
Djembe rhythm one
Let's take a look at djembe rhythm one. The following student djembe rhythms are written in box form notation, which makes remembering djembe rhythms easy to learn.
Let’s get practicing rhythm one. B = bass, T = tone and S = slap.
Both djembe rhythms work beautifully with Peace for Mother Earth song. Notice how the drum rhythms connect with the melody of the song.
