Sweet melodies of native American flute nurture heart chakra
One way we can creativity experience peace of mind and attain calm, ease and flow are with rhythm, melody, harmony and silence – the power of music!
Research tells us that participating in slow rhythmical music making, can increase focus, ease stress, decrease anxiety and elevate our mood.
Healing music with the intention of wellness is a form of deep meditation, which is my favourite teaching tool in Positive Music facilitation. Not all drumming needs to be high energy, in fact slow meditative rhythms are recommended for those who have experienced trauma.
Let’s face it many people across the globe struggle with over thinking. How many times do I hear this from those who attend my sound baths for the first time. Its quite alarming.
It’s like we’re living in a world of neon lights everywhere we turn. We don’t allow our brain switch off, or chill out, we are always on the go. The consequence of overthinking is we lose our self.
We struggle to make good decisions, unable to problem solve and think clearly, we become out of touch with our feelings. Our life is on auto pilot and in reality, inviting chaos instead of flow.
We have the power to change and be the hero in our life
When we include healing music as part of staying mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually healthy, we are saying to ourself we deserve joy and happiness… yes?
I believe everyone can create music for wellness! Not just musicians, but everyone who yearns for a better life, this is my mantra for all Positive Music wellness programs and teacher trainings. Where attention goes, energy flows…
By including 4 healing elements of music to our life, (rhythm, melody, harmony and silence) not only are we calming our nervous system, we are also using parts of the brain associated with emotion (empathy, compassion), memory and creativity.
The melodies of the sweet native American style flute enrich our lives, touches our heart, like no other. These sweet melodies that anyone can create, allow for expression of grief, sorrow, joy happiness. Giving a voice to the unheard, gifting us a language of our own that feels safe to let go and fully express what is in our hearts. Sometimes we find it difficult to find the words. Have you experienced this? With music in our life, we are enriched and blessed – this is music’s gift to us.
