Harmony song for International Day of Peace short snippet
I wanted for you to be the first to hear a short snippet of my new song for International Day of Peace called Harmony.
I always find when composing and mixing a song, a journey of discovery, whether that be about myself or learning new ways to mix or finding a fun rhythm to play. It’s kind of like a play for all… exploring and see what happens.
"The thoughts we choose to think are the tools we use to paint the canvas of our lives." – Louise Hay
Journey within to re-discover inner power
Do you find trying something new or stepping out of the comfort zone a step of courage? Maybe a huge leap of courage?
What if we could delve into our creativity without a second thought of doubt? Just BAMMM, let’s get going?
What if we could just simply share our creative spirit and feel a sense joy and acceptance?
I wonder where I would be if I let those thoughts of doubt such as, I’m not musical enough to make my own music, or me… a composer of music? Yheaa! Let alone having my own recording studio and recording and mixing music.
Back in 2012 I had a serious injury to my hand and unfortunately couldn’t play, teach or perform drums? Which is my occupation. I didn’t play a drum for two years! I am still recovering from this injury, however through this challenging time in my life I wanted to continue music in some way. I love music!
I have a very supportive husband who gave me the chance to explore sound healing. Personally, I was achieving wonderful results playing singing bowls and other sound therapy instruments and thought maybe I could offer sound baths and sound meditations for others.
This was also a huge step of courage for me. I had only been to sound baths by professional musicians so I didn’t think I had the knowledge or expertise to run my own sound baths.
Be surrounded by like-minded people
I was so fortunate that I had the right people who came along on my path, supported me and helped nurture my creative spirit.
By taking that first step I began to grow in areas I never thought I would flourish and grow. During this time of self-discovery, I was fortunate to have people in my life who were experts in these fields of meditation, music production, composing music and sound healing, plus personal coaches.
How funny is that… I am now a certified meditation teacher and certified personal coach and compose music for businesses that support wellness. In the past I had only seen myself as a drummer and that was it. It had taken a health challenge to awaken more within me.
For me to get the most out of life is to continue to look within, to be able to tap into this inner resource and keep sowing the seeds of self love and self respect. This is my journey and I am committed to honouring this.
Maybe you can relate to my story or going through your own personal challenges of finding your gifts and talents or feeling stuck?
Is there anything stopping you from exploring your gifts and talents? If you could change one thing, what would it be?
“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” – Nelson Mandela.
