Build self-confidence with creative music-making
How can playing the native American flute, shamanic drum, or singing bowl help build our self-confidence? Can playing-along to healing music or playing with others in a drum circle really help create more purpose and fulling life journey?
We are living in a time of huge change. Time is whispering to us… look within.
Would you like to explore some ideas with me?
Just imagine… all thoughts have energy; sound has a vibration and sound is energy.
They say we have around 30,000/50,000 thoughts a day… and many of those thoughts aren’t serving our higher self. The subconscious is very busy.
Did you know we have the power to change those limiting beliefs about ourself to one of self-empowerment?
If you answered yes, then let’s get cracking!
But before we begin, make a commitment to do the work. Yes? Write in the comments below. Yes!
Rediscover your potential with exploring creativity
What would it mean to you to discover your purpose and live your full potential? I believe that every person has unique gifts and talents and when we show up and share who we are, we create a better world for all. Not only are we valuing ourself, we are also taking responsibility for our thoughts and actions.
It’s the same analogy in the drum circle. That everyone’s part that’s being played is important to the percussion orchestral song, no matter if you’re playing the biggest drum or the smallest wooden frog.
Positive Music facilitator trainings show many examples to help future facilitators discover their strengths and explore how best they can serve their community.
How lucky are we to have at our fingertips sound healing tool for self-transformation. Music is a form of meditation, where it can quiet the over thinking mind to help us rediscover our true essence.
Lets’ explore together, how we can develop a positive mindset with the power of music.
For the next few weeks, we will discover how to marry music, mindfulness and virtues to uplift ourself and pull down the filter of self-doubt and unworthiness to one of acceptance and ... (please fill in the gap).
What would it mean to you to freely improvise sweet melodies and deeply express what is in your heart on the native American flute? Or feel deep connection to your strength and inner power through healing rhythms of the drum? Maybe tune in deeply with singing bowls to discover a world of inner silence and peace? Or even taking it a bit further and be the leader in your community sharing your gifts of making music with others?
Pretty cool, yeah?
What virtues do you have and how to build self-confidence?
I invite you now to focus on a virtue and connect to this virtue as a feeling. This helps anchor the virtue with the feeling. And now express this feeling on your choice of sound healing instrument, such as shamanic drum, native American flute, singing bowl, voice… etc.
We can imbibe virtues with our music-making as a meditative tool to help restore a deep loving relationship with ourself. Virtues are what makes you… your personality. It could include the following:
-
Compassionate
-
Patient
-
Courageous
-
Gentle
-
Tolerant
-
Respectful
-
Have a missed a virtue? Write them down and share them in the comments below.
By including positive attributes, we can develop a deeper relationship with ourself which over flows in our creativity and relationships with others. This is an incredible investment for our personal growth, so please make sure there is time for self-reflection. This takes focus and regular practice.
Playing music as a meditative tool reconnects with our essence and our virtues. Choose one of your lovely virtues and reflect in silence and tune into what this virtue evokes in your heart.
Next week we will explore drumming on a virtue and be creative by visualising taking care of the seeds of virtues we plant (in our mind) and nurturing through healing rhythms.
Why include virtues in our drumming or flute playing?
The end result is our vibration influences our household, then community and yes even the world – we are all connected, yes?
