Flute vibrations and singing bowls enrich our life
The beauty of exploring sound healing as a wellness tool is we can tap into the grounding rhythms of the medicine drum, hear sweet melodies of our heart song with native American style flute and feel energised by the harmonious vibrations of Himalayan singing bowls.
When we add an intention for wellness, whether that being in the drum circle, meditation practice, or sound baths, we naturally shift energy and let go of old belief systems that don’t serve us.
By exploring music as meditation, we can experience benefits such as calming the mind to enhance focus, rebalancing energy of the body to ease pain, and tune into our intuition to increase trust.
From my personal experience, deep meditation is a return to love, a self-respect and a sense of belonging. Now that might sound to some as a bit whooo yooo… but when we think about it, most action or reactions come from either a place of anger or love. Just imagine… all thoughts are energy, and all energy is vibration.
When we combine music and meditation, we are receiving one of the most powerful creative ways to explore these foundations, a way of liberating us from sorrow. What a gift and an opportunity for healing!
Many of us on this earth have experienced some kind of trauma and statistics show this. Everyone is unique with their story. Gentleness, compassion and empathy is the answer which lays at the root of all sound healing.
The power of the drum circle for mental health
Just last weekend I facilitated a Positive Music drum circle at one of my local spiritual retreat centres. What a powerful and transformational experience was had by all participants.
One of the drum circle participants shared with the group that she felt like part of an orchestra (she had never played a musical instrument before). Which made me think. Imagine… every soul in the world as an instrument in an orchestra (global community), how well am I playing my part in the orchestra, what vibrational energy am I contributing to the orchestral song, how well am I tuned in?
The drum circle is way more than drumming, it’s seeing the specialty of each one and witnessing what makes us a harmonious healthy community, reminding us that we are special, unique and needed in the group orchestral song.
Time and time again I am shown the power of music in facilitating Positive Music trainings, wellness programs and therapeutic community drumming circles. I have witnessed the shifts and transformation in people, the return to self-love, the deep respect of each one in the drum circle.
By embracing music as a sound healing tool and opening our hearts to the possibilities and experiences that creating music with like-minded souls in the drum circle, we are guided on a journey of self-discovery, upliftment and transformation.
What ways can you bring more music into your life?
What discoveries have you made by playing in a drum circle?
