Healing drum rhythms to uplift
There’s something about healing music and drum rhythms that connect to the heart. It’s like a rhythmical lullaby that taps into our authenticity. Sometimes it could be a beautiful melody that soothes the heart or a combination of notes in terms of harmony that nurture the soul, or a simple rhythmical groove that touches and energises our senses.
When we experience music as a creative form of meditation, we naturally dive deep into an authentic space within and are reminded of our truth of peace, harmony, love.
As I continue to recover from contracting covid, I have noticed there have been some personal limiting beliefs that have arisen during this time for me to work on. Even though these limiting beliefs and feelings have been uncomfortable and at times painful to look at, I take comfort in my connection with music, meditation and spirituality.
Even though I’m physically and emotionally not up to making blog videos at this moment in time, I wanted to keep my commitment to Positive Music blog subscribers (you). I was reminded by a subscriber who wrote to me about Energise Your Life drum play along music and how do the drum therapy cards work together.
I thought it was perfect timing and a lovely reminder how we can rebuild and nurture a positive mindset with healing rhythms and music, by including positive affirmations. So, making an intention with our drumming and using music as a wellness tool to connect with ourself.
We are all going through challenging times and many of us are being challenged to stay connected with our original essence of peace, harmony and love. Sometimes talk therapy is not the right fit for many, by thinking outside the square and using music as a creative healing tool to connect with our original essence we can experience and be reminded of our purity, that sweet childlike essence that is within each one of us. Sometimes we just need to get out of our head and be more in our heart.
Drum therapy cards with Dancing Droplets
I’ve created 32 drum therapy cards with rhythm affirmations as a downloadable pdf. Each card has a worded affirmation or intention. I recorded and produced this drum play-along called Dancing Droplets from Energise Your Life album, which includes 24 play-along drum songs. It has a lovely upbeat 6/8 feel or 4/4 triplet feel and of course when I hear this kind of feel it reminds me of joy.
All healing music play-along tracks and drum therapy cards accompany my online drumming meditation course. Here I would like to share with you a few affirmation cards from Energise Your Life drum therapy cards.
Drum therapy card Joy
Take a look at the video of the lovely 6/8 groove called Joy from the drum therapy cards. This hand drum rhythm goes so well with Dancing Droplets drum play-along. I have also included a few djembe solo ideas if you are looking for more of a musical challenge. However, this is such a lovely meditative drum rhythm just on its own with the play along music.

Drum therapy card Flow
Now let us look at another drum affirmation from the pack of pdf cards. I came up with this soothing 6/8 drum rhythm called Flow to play along to Dancing Droplets. Once again, another lovely meditative hand drum rhythm to ease stress – a rhythm to get you into the Flow.
Let's take a look at the video, which also includes handheld percussion instruments as a supportive groove for the djembe drum rhythm.
