There have been many studies and research that show playing or experiencing sound therapy instruments such as drums, singing bowls, our own voice and melodic and harmonic musical instruments can reduce stress hormones within the body. Each organ within our body vibrates at different frequencies, and throughout our life they can get out of balance, due to stress. This is where dis-ease can occur.
These kind of sound healing instruments can help rebalance the body, bring it back in tune, into balance. As you can see the graph on the right, drumming can help reduce stress that comes from the mind. Drumming out a rhythm on the drum can increase emotional wellness of stability, connection and safety, that increases confidence.
Even if you don’t know much about drumming or attending a drumming meditation course online for the first time, having regular sound healing drumming routine will boost creativity too.
Vibrational energy of thoughts
But of course, our thinking is huge factor in remaining physically, emotionally and mentally healthy or coming back from recovery.
It was through my own experience of going through covid and during this time stopped my meditation that those old unwanted thoughts of doubt and unworthiness crept in. Thank goodness for those years of meditation, that I was aware of where I was heading (that dark hole) that I could bounce back quickly.
I’m fortunate that my spiritual and meditation practice helps maintain a healthy mindset. I also give thanks to my mentors and spiritual community that continue give guidance.
Therefore, when we combine sound healing, music and meditation as a therapeutic tool for wellness our life begins to change in a positive direction. It’s like lifting the fog from the mind and seeing things clearly and making healthy life choices. By exploring music and meditation as a healing tool, we tap into creativity, our virtues, our essence.
Just imagine if big corporations jumped on board to serve their employees with workplace wellness programs using music as meditation… the ripple effect throughout the organisations and community that they serve, energetically there would be more cohesion, compassion and empathy.
Start simple with music meditation practice
When we make a choice of putting our health and wellness first things in our life naturally begin to change. Every thought, action we make has energy. A daily meditation practice can work wonders.
A simple drumming affirmation rhythm with an intention can help clear the mind.
