Sweet melodic sounds of the native American style flute for self-empowerment
The more ways we can experience calm in an ever-changing world the better… yes? Whether that is in creative ways such as playing sound healing native flute, drumming meditation, spiritual practice or walking in nature.
I see music as a form of meditation. A way back into remembrance of who I am. There is a purity when one plays the native American flute. It captures the very essence of who we are. Purity, balance with nature and a sense of freedom. It’s like a return to home, a safe place for deep connection to the divine within.
For centuries in many cultures’ melody is connected to the heart. In metaphysical elements of music, balance of the heart chakra resonates with forgiveness, empathy, trust and equilibrium. Melody of the native American style flute awakens compassion of self, others and a deeper connection to mother earth.
Playing flute melodies stimulates our entire immune system and strengthens our spirituality (not religion) according to Buddhists traditions. It decreases self-doubt, insecurity, and jealousy. Being able to express what is in our heart in a safe way through playing the flute gives us so much joy and contentment. Would you like to experience more joy… more contentment?
Joy, purity, love, peace and wisdom are virtues that belong to every one of us. Just imagine returning to these feelings… every day. What would that be like for you and making decisions in your life?
When we combine melody, rhythm, harmony and silence (metaphysical elements of music) as part of our music meditation or music medicine with intention to reconnect with these virtues, we develop a healing practice that awakens the qualities within.
Quiet the mind and rebalance our energy with sound healing
We are all energy and emitting energy (thoughts) all the time. It makes sense that we have an ever-growing daily meditation practice to boost our inner battery, to help build resilience and stay true to our values. Not get pulled in by the drama of life. (I’m sure that all of us at some point in our life have been caught in the drama – if not every day).
For those who find it difficult to quiet the mind (that is majority of people), the next best step might be attending in person sound baths or sound healings or being creative and having a daily music meditation practice. These days it is simple to find sound therapy instruments that are accessible for all levels of ability, such as the native American flute, singing bowls, gongs, medicine drum, our voice.
Quieting the mind helps us to tune inwards. We view the world from a place of calm, giving us stability within and benevolence. Sounds simple? Yes…No? With my coaching clients we work through these challenges that stop us from living a life of joy, fulfillment and meaning.
So, let’s look at some ways we can bring more music medicine into our life:
Create a daily practice. Make a commitment to yourself. Feel inspired to maintain this practice by:
