Finding Peace Through Music and Meditation

Life’s Challenges to Peace Through Music

When I look back over my life, I see a winding path marked by both challenges and unexpected gifts. Like many of us, I’ve walked through times of stress, uncertainty, and change. In those moments, I often felt a longing for something deeper — a way to reconnect with myself, to find calm, and to move forward with hope.

That “something” turned out to be music.

Not music in the way I had always thought of it — songs on the radio or performances on a stage — but music as a form of healing, a companion on my journey, and a gentle teacher showing me how to be present. The steady beat of a drum, the breath flowing through a Native American flute, the soothing tones of a singing bowl, along-side with meditation… these became pathways back to peace when life felt overwhelming.

Music and Daily Meditation Create Inner Peace

Alongside music, one of the most important practices that carried me through these times was daily meditation. Creating a regular space to pause, breathe, and listen inward became the foundation for cultivating a positive mindset. Over time, meditation helped me shift my focus from worry to gratitude, from stress to clarity, from self-doubt to inner strength.

That inner practice not only shaped my wellbeing — it became the heartbeat of everything I now share through Positive Music, with music coaching, online lessons and wellbeing programs.

This is how Positive Music was born.

It began as my personal practice, a way to bring more balance into my life. But over time, I felt called to share it. I saw how the simple act of making music together could help people relax, smile, connect, and feel uplifted. All these experiences has helped me to custom create Positive Music trainings for community leaders and social workers.

I experienced how a flute meditation could quiet the busy mind and open the heart. And I realised that the challenges I had faced — the very moments that had led me to music and meditation — had shaped a vision: to offer sound and stillness as gifts of peace and connection for others.

That vision continues to grow through Positive Music, and it’s why I’m so excited to invite you to a very special event.

Special invitation: online gathering - International Day of Peace

On Sunday, 21 September, I’ll be hosting a FREE online gathering to celebrate the International Day of Peace. This is a day recognised around the world as a time to pause, reflect, and join together in the spirit of peace.

Our online session will be a space for you to:

  • Relax and let go of stress through calming sounds and guided meditation.
  • Connect with like-minded people across the globe, all holding the intention of peace.
  • Send out loving energy — not only to ourselves and each other, but to the wider world, the animals, and the natural elements that sustain us.

I’ll be weaving live flute music, gentle rhythms, and guided meditation into the session, creating a peaceful atmosphere where we can come together in harmony. Whether you’re joining from your living room, your garden, or a quiet corner of your day, you’ll be part of a global community choosing to nurture peace — both within and without.

The International Day of Peace reminds us that every small act of peace matters. My story with Positive Music began with simple steps: sitting in meditation, with intention playing either a singing bowl, flute or buffalo drum and allowing sound and silence to carry me through my challenges.

Your step might be as simple as showing up for yourself, taking an hour to breathe deeply, listen, and connect.

I believe that when we come together with shared intention, even in a virtual space, the ripple effects are powerful. Peace grows when we choose it — in our hearts, in our communities, and in the wider world.

I warmly invite you to join me on Sunday, 21 September for this free online International Day of Peace celebration.

Bookings are essential, and you can reserve your place at Positive Music events.

Together, let’s create a moment of stillness, beauty, and peace — and carry that energy out into the world.
