Drumming is a great starting point to introduce students to classroom music-making
Whether we’re learning pitched percussion or unpitched percussion it starts with rhythm. Getting kids into drumming is a stepping stone to learning other musical instruments and making music with others. Plus, hand drumming is so assessable for many classrooms. These days many have a set of djembe drums or even bucket drums in the music cupboard.
Exciting new resources for students and teachers
I’m opening up my new VIP membership tier. Which includes in depth lessons on my classroom percussion ensemble songs. I take you through composition parts of hand drum rhythms, solos, and melodies played on xylophone and other tuned percussion. This months song is Drum Dreaming.
If you’re a drum student or music educator who teaches students and looking to find fun and creative percussion music to play for rhythmical empowerment or teach your class and want to build rhythm skills and be confident to teach engaging percussion ensemble music, then this membership is for you.
Special wellbeing tools for teachers and students
Plus, as a VIP member you gain access to the wellbeing video and audio resources such as my mini drum meditation course, guided meditations and sound healings to help you feel calm and relaxed, so you can feel energised to teach your students.
