Here are the answers to frequently asked questions about one-on-one and group drumming lessons.
I don’t think I have rhythm. Can I still attend lessons?
Of course! Peta believes that everyone has a natural sense of rhythm. If you have a heartbeat, you have rhythm! She has helped hundreds of nervous beginners learn to drum. If you're worried about your lack of drumming experience, please contact Peta to discuss your concerns.
Am I too old for drumming?
Absolutely not! You’re never too old to drum. Peta enjoys people of all ages attending her individual or group drumming classes. If you have any concerns, contact Peta to discuss your situation.
How much is a drum lesson?
Peta Minter principal drum teacher at Positive Music offers individual and small group drum lessons and classes for beginners through to intermediate, from age 10 to 110.
You can book Peta for:
- 30 minute lesson (individual $40, two people $30 each)
- 60 minute lesson (individual $70, two people $45 each)
If I miss a lesson, do I get a refund?
2 weeks notice is required, any less than 2 weeks notice sorry, there are no refunds for missed lessons. Please contact Peta for the lesson agreement form.
I want to buy a drum. Do you sell drums?
Yes, students can purchase a drum from Peta, all students receive a discount. Please let us know what you are looking for and we can accommodate you.
Do I need my own drum to practice on after classes?
Ideally, yes. If you want to improve your drumming as quickly as possible, it's important that you have a drum of your own.
Do you offer professional development for teachers?
Yes, Peta offers high quality professional development programs for teachers. She can come to your school, or you can come to our studio in South East Melbourne. We run two-day teacher training programs for teachers of all levels and abilities. No experience is necessary.
