Joey's Jive
Joey's Jive is a fun, energetic and rhythmical piece that requires teamwork and collaboration for 13 and more players. Using a beautiful combination of Orff instruments and African style drums with sound effects such as tingshas and wah-wah tubes. All these parts can be played by more than one player, doubling up instruments to create a beautiful full percussion ensemble.
Environmental themes
Joey's Jive song is part of Peta’s series of environmental themes, bringing awareness to our important echo system. This song was inspired by my walks in Victoria's National Parks, just sitting and watching the groups of little kangaroos (joey) and the dynamics of kangaroo groups.
