Group drumming rhythms for the classroom

I have found that starting with simple drum circle rhythms when working with new groups help build children's confidence. This is a must. It also establishes trust between student and teacher. There are some kids that pick up rhythms quickly and there are some that need some extra help and time, whether its co-ordination or self belief.

One of the great benefits of drum circle music is the option to bring in lots of percussion instruments. There are a wonderful variety of percussion to add to your kids drumming class.

- Soundscape sounds
Bring in as much variety of percussion for kids to explore - really explore, to the point where there is no time signature - just sound, like a Soundscape (painting a picture with sound). Let their imagination to be stimulated.
More than just banging on a drum
Kids love to learn how to play drums and there are so many benefits to group drumming. Research shows that group drumming can reduce stress and anxiety, build immune system, stimulate creativity and decrease depression and uplift our mood.
